Oh it’s funny and you know it.  We’ve all heard the joke.  And any of youse Marines that don’t like it, tough.  I’ve served in 2 branches of the military, I think that earns me the right to poke fun at the other two.

Thank you to everyone who has ever put on the uniform.  Thank you to all of youse guys for fighting in whichever theater you’re in.  It doesn’t matter to me “why” you’re there.  Money, oil, weapons, boredom, democracy, government frequent flier miles about to expire…  WHTATEVER sent you there doesn’t matter to me.  What matters to me (and the stick boys) is that you’re over there doin’ what you do voluntarily.  You joined to serve us so others wouldn’t be forced to.
