Hey, everyone.  My comics are on hiatus until further notice.  My piece of shoe computer crapped out
on me last night.  I had to perform some surgery on it last night and, well, let’s just say it didn’t go so well.
I’ll be working on it over the weekend… PRAYING that I don’t have to reinstall the operating system.
All of my important files are backed up on a secondary drive, but it’s still a pain in the arse, y’know?
I’ll let you know when the battlestation is fully operational.  Wish me luck!

Can you believe that department stores open at 5:00 am for those “After-Thanksgiving-Buy-A-Bunch-Of-Crap-For-Christmas-For-People-You-Don’t-Like” sales?!  And people camp the lines at Best Buy at 3pm on Thanksgiving for these!  YIKES!

Thanksgiving has many meanings all over the world.  It’s not just an American tradition.  It’s a time to get together and give thanks for the loved ones in your life.  Right.  Just gobble down some gobble gobble.

Y’know, it’s not what you say, but rather how you say it.  Nothing irritates Ted more than someone trying to be witty or clever around him.  Especially since he is neither.

Now that Ted has decided to be a zombie for Halloween, he and Zed are ready to go Trick-or-Treating. 

So I went to Wizard World Texas this weekend and had a complete blast!  I volunteered this year and it was a pretty fun experience.  I just wish I was able to start earlier if only for a t-shirt that actually fit!  I was swimming in the one they gave me!  ::sigh::

The first two hours were spent in this 8′x8′ room outside the main convention floor.  Every 15 minutes or so I’d go check the Wizard rack to make sure the comp copies stayed stocked.  The rest of that time was spent with a half dozen other volunteers goofing around.  When someone from the staff came around for two willing volunteers, I jumped at the chance to do something productive.  Little did I know I was in for a sweet surprise.  I spent the rest of the day helping out at Arthur Suydam’s table.  YAY! For those of you playing the home game, Arthur Suydam is the guy that does the cover art for the Marvel Zombies books.  Needless to say, I’m a huge fan.  Did a bunch of crowd control, book sellin’ and a bit of gopher work there.  He was fun to work with!  I learned a great deal from him and gaine a bit of insight into the world of comics.  He’s patient, generous, and easy to talk to.  Great guy.  Working with him totally made up for all of the lost sleep and missed meals over the weekend.

There were some pretty creative cosplayers out there this weekend, too.  Unfortunately, my camera must not like me because about 15 photos didn’t keep.  I don’t know what happened. Maybe my camera was just jealous.  The few photos that did make it are here and in my Wizard World Texas photo album on MySpace.  Here are two more to start you off:

I also had some pictures of the crew from Drunk Duck.  If any of youse guys want to send some, I promise to keep Zed from eating you for at least one day.  I’ve recently joined Drunk Duck, too.  You can see my page here.  I think I like Drunk Duck better than HyperComics or ComicSpace.  These guys were really inspiring and fun to hang with.  They were right next to Arthur’s table.  They were pretty patient when his line would build up in front of their table.  I tried to keep that to a minimum.  Yeah, I’m a slacker.

OH!  I completely forgot!  I got to meet Lou Ferrigno!  Yeah, that’s right.  The Incredible Hulk himself!  Interesting guy…  yeah…  This guy was one of the reasons I fell in love with comics in the first place!  My dad and I used to watch The Incredible Hulk on TV when I was a kid.  I don’t want to bash a childhood idol here, so I won’t.  But let’s say that trying to talk to him was much like trying to play catch with a well-built koala.  He doesn’t like to throw the ball much. Wish me luck next time, yeah?
